Number: 08-6 Story: I made this image during a wonderful family trip to the Upper Kern in Sequoia National Park. We crossed Kearsarge Pass, and then took the Muir Trail south over Forester Pass, and then cross country to this base camp. Earlier in my career I made dozens of visits to this area, but since kids, these journeys have been harder and harder. Fortunately both Dylan and Sabrina love the back-country. My wife Margaret, and I could live outside all summer! It is easier than real-life at home. For me this image is the quintessential photograph of a wonderful part of the Sierra. I am very thankful too - next morning my camera malfunctioned and we lost all the images from the remainder of the trip. |
