I must have had this image in my mind since the early nineties. I made a scouting trip to the Alabama Hills for a workshop, with one of my oldest friends in mid January 2012. It was a very dry year, but there had been a significant snowfall the previous days. We arrived at a spot on Movie Road which I remembered from fifteen years before, and everything fell into place. We stopped at the correct location, walked to the exact spot, and the light and low snow level were all perfect. I made ten vertical photographs and then stitched them together in Photoshop to produce this panoramic image.
