In 2012 my family spent a few days camping at Fruita in Capitol Reef National Park. I was struck the vivid greens of the just greening cottonwoods in the Spring at this time. I made this image one lazy afternoon just a few minutes from camp. I had driven this road several times on the way to Torrey; this image was made just past the Visitor Center at Panoramic Point. The sparking greens, the canyon walls, the thunderclouds, and the late afternoon light made a wonderful combination of light, textures and form. I have presented this image in a panoramic format, but it is just as strong in a true 35mm, 2x3 aspect ratio.
