The Amazing Autumn of the Eastern Sierra is Continuing..

I made three trips to Aspendell above Bishop this year! I have stopped there many times over the years, my image from 1993 was always the best until this fall.

Is it me? Or is the changing color being the BEST this year? I have been at this shooting business for 45 years, and I have never felt that I HAD to be out there every day, until this Autumn. The shift in color has progressed in its usual order starting In Rock Creek and the South Lake Road, now the color has been meandering down to Grant Lake and Lee Vining Canyon, it has taken all a month, the color still wonderful, and we still have Mono Lake, Round Valley and Bishop.

A trusted friend mentioned that the wet Spring with all the luscious green plants everywhere, may have left extra water in the soil? Making possible all these spectacular colors! What do you think? Please let me know!
