Autumn in Bishop Creek. September 2018. // The first time I spotted this image was in the autumn of 2017. This seems a little late in my career to find such a wonderful subject in Bishop Creek—most of the locations in my autumn images are places I have visited many times over the last 30 years! The image did not quite work last season, but I kept the idea in mind. I was driving in the same general area last Tuesday when I caught the brilliant light in the corner of my eye. The car seemed to stop itself—I had no hesitation in capturing this one. This was my first and best version of this subject. It is seldom in any given autumn season that I get new images I can actually work into my portfolio, but I very much enjoy photographing this season in the Eastern Sierra regardless.
