Ansel Adams always said to "pre-visualize" one's images. To me, this means to visualize in my mind's eye, maybe for years, as a given concept "develops" in the right-side of my brain. I had this location in Rock Creek scouted years beforehand, maybe decades before , until I made this capture. So scout, scout, and scout some more. Sometimes I made images here, sometimes I just walked by this grove of Aspens, waiting for that magic moment to appear. This was a cold late autumn afternoon in early November, it was the "magic moment" for this grove. And when the moment arrived, I was in a quiet, rested, and mindful state ready to go.
