This is one of the classic photographs of Capitol Reef National Park. I spent eight years ruminating about the image. I had last visited the park in 2012, and it was in the Springtime. We had a few days here, and I believed the colors would not change during our stay. Maybe they would be better? But this afternoon was so special, a few changing Cottonwoods, the shadows leading back to the Fremont River, and the late sunset glow on the peaks. I was quite happy to be there!
