With Sabrina studying at Yale, autumn has become the time for a regular journey to the east coast to visit our daughter. The chance to see New England colors clinches the deal. This time I made time for a visit to Maine's Acadia National Park during the peak color season. We spent three days making amazing captures in and around the Park. The possibilities for photography seemed endless to me. As a California photographer, based in Mammoth Lakes, I have always had access to the best colors in the state. The Eastern Sierra is incredible, and we have reliable colors at varied elevations year to year. In Acadia there were fire-engine reds at the Atlantic seacoast. Needless to say, I went a bit crazy shooting! My advice to students in workshops seemed applicable here. "Keep It Simple." So I followed my own words in what could be a "once-in-a-lifetime" shooting opportunity.
