There are several acres of Lupine along the lower section of this creek. It is an amazing sight for a few weeks each year. Lupines love areas that have been disturbed by fire, or man-made building projects. This spot has both, there was a big fire back in 1998, I believe, and this has been the spot of many DWP construction projects. And it has reliable water. Every year these plants grow to be the size of a Mini, or a Volkswagen bug. This capture was made back 2014. It is still my best effort! I must have made six different trips there in the spring of 2016, but to no avail. It is one of those locations that is truly beautiful, but very difficult to make a spectacular image.
