I made this image during a special trip for me. This was my first trip with daughter, Sabrina, just the two of us. And we were in the back-country during the summer solstice in June. This image was made on the North Fork of Lone Pine far above Upper Boy Scout Lake, near the John Muir Trail. I had been here two times before with my camera starting in 1996. Neither of those visits worked out as well as I would have liked. It was always cold and windy, and hard to setup a large-format camera. At the time of this image, I had used my digital Canon for two years and I knew exactly what I wanted to achieve. The summer solstice requires very early wakeups. Coffee was on at 4AM. Sabrina was up with me, and we found this extraordinary reflection at this special hidden lake.
