Margaret and I made a wonderful journey out past Humphrey's Basin in the John Muir Wilderness in the summer of 2014. We had four days of amazing clouds, afternoon weather, and incredible fields of Lupine. Our last night was here at Royce Lakes. I had camped her with Margaret more than thirty years previously; and I must admit that my skills with my camera in those long-ago days were not up to par! I had always dreamed of a trip back to this campsite. It was worth the long hiatus. We had some serious rain that afternoon and evening , and then woke up to this incredible morning. This was actually the last of my exposures of the entire trip. I made five vertical captures from this spot while we were having morning coffee. Later I stitched them together in Photoshop. The light and the timing was perfect, and there was almost no work to be done post-processing.
